A dynamo-meter (dyno) is a device used for measuring force, torque or power produced by a vehicle’s engine.
DTE is an acronym for “distance til empty”. You will see this displayed on vehicle instrument panels that calculate how much farther your vehicle can go before it runs out of gas. You will usually see a specific mileage. One thing to keep in mind is this is a rough estimate and can change based on your driving style.
In the example below you see that the DTE is 40 miles:
