This guide will show you how to install NXT Generation Parts & Accessories 2012 – 2014 Ford Focus Hood lift.
- 10mm Socket Wrench
- 2 Towels
- Masking Tape
**Note** This is a 100% bolt-on kit; there is no drilling required during installation. Please read entire instructions before attempting to install this kit. Reading all steps will prevent any missteps that could complicate the process or cause damage to yourself or your vehicle. Step 1: Pull the hood release
Step 2: Un-latch the hood using yellow release then prop the hood with the original prop.
Step 3: Un-clip the wiper fluid hose so you can re-route it underneath the plastic trim.
Step 4: Use the release clip to prop up the plastic trim and slide the wiper hose underneath.
Step 5: Remove the passenger fender bolt using the 10mm socket wrench.
Step 6: Use the Passenger side bracket labeled with “P” and mount on the passenger side of the vehicle with the ball pointing towards the engine.
REPEAT Steps 5&6: Using the Drivers side bracket labeled with “D” and mount on the driver side of the vehicle with the ball pointing towards the engine.
Step 7: Place a towel behind both corners of the hood.
Step 8: Tape around the edges of the hood bracket to mark its current fitment.
Step 9: Remove the two 10mm Bolts holding the hood.
CAUTION: At this point the hood will need support and will be half-way detached from the vehicle.
Step 10: Place the Passenger hood bracket labeled “P” on the hood. Make sure to line up the hood with the tape, then tighten the bolts. CAUTION: Do not over tighten the bolts, this will cause damage to the hood.
REPEAT Steps 9&10: using the Drivers side bracket labeled “D” and mount on the driver’s side of the hood.
Step 11: Snap the thicker end of the hood strut on to the hood bracket mounting ball. Do this for both sides.
Tip: Angle strut at 45-degree angle for ease of insertion onto mounting ball.
Step 12: Attach the thinner side of the hood strut to the fender bracket mounting ball. Do this for both sides.
Step 13: Remove the tape used to mark the hood bracket placement.
Step 14: Release the hood prop and return to a horizontal position. Turn the rod clockwise while in the horizontal position to remove.
Step 15: Gently lower the hood and press on the front center to lock into place.
You have now finished the install.
