Oil Change 2009 Nissan Versa Instructions:

Step 1: Get the car lifted so you can access underneath the vehicle. We use ramps in this example. Engage the parking brake and pop the hood.

Step 2: Press the hood release and prop the hood.

Step 3: Remove the 4 pop rivets. There are two on each side.

Step 4: Use a 10mm wrench to remove the 4 bolts holding the protective covering.

Step 5: Remove the protective covering.

Step 6: Remove the oil bolt using a 14mm wrench. Make sure to have your oil catch ready. Careful, if the engine was previously running the oil will be hot.

Step 7: Remove the oil cap, this will help the oil draining flow and prepare for adding the new oil.

Step 8: Remove the oil filter. If you cant do this by hand, use an oil filter wrench / pliers.

Step 9: Apply oil to the seal of the new filter.

Step 10: Install the new oil filter.

Step 11: Re-install the oil bolt. Do not over tighten, go a quarter turn past snug. We recommend cleaning it before putting it back to remove the old oil.

Step 12: Use a funnel to pour new oil into your car. Consult your local shop for oil type as with climate and millage recommendations may vary.

Step 13: Replace the oil reservoir cap.

Step 14: Re-install the protective cover by reversing the steps to take it off.

Step 15: Run the car for a couple minutes, then let the engine cool. Check oil level. Add more oil if needed.

Step 16: Close the hood of the car and you have finished changing the oil.

Make sure to recycle your oil. There are many local shops that will recycle the oil for you free of charge.
