Step 1: Remove the five Phillips screws holding the lower left fairing to the motorcycle.

Step 3: Slide fairing towards the rear of the motorcycle to disconnect.

Step 4: Use a 17mm wrench to loosen and remove the oil bolt. Make sure to have your oil catch ready. If the engine was previously running the oil will be very hot!

Step 5: To help the oil drain remove the cap to the oil reservoir.

Step 6: Use an oil filter pliers or wrench to remove the oil filter.

Step 7: Clean the oil bolt then put back. Do not over tighten, this can strip the oil pan threads.

Step 8: Put some of the new oil on the new filter seal.

Step 9: Install your new oil filter, be careful not to over tighten.

Step 10: Fill the motorcycle with oil, talk to your local dealer for recommended oil.

Step 11: After filling the motorcycle with oil, put the cap back on the oil reservoir.

Step 12: Run the engine for a couple minutes, then let the engine cool. Check the oil and make sure it falls withing the high low markers on the oil measurement window. The bike should be straight up and down while taking this measurement. Adjust accordingly.

Step 13: Reverse the steps to put the motorcycle fairings back and you have finished your oil change.
