Replace Rear Fairing on 1998-2003 Yamaha R1

Description: This guide will show you how to replace the rear fairing on a 1998-2003 Yamaha R1.

Tools Required:

  1. 5mm Allen Wrench
  2. Philips Screwdrover

Parts Required:

  1. New Rear Fairing

Step 1: Use the key to unlatch the passenger seat.

Step 2:  Use 5mm Allen Wrench to remove the seat bolts on each side.

Step 3: Remove seat from the motorcycle.

Step 4: Remove the phillips screw on the top of the fairing.

Step 5: Remove the phillips screws on both sides of fairing.

Step 6: Remove the 8 push pins underneath the fairing.

Step 7: Gently pull outward on the side of the fairing and slide back off the motorcycle.

Step 8: Remove the 2 plastic inserts from the fairing and insert them into your new fairing.

Step 9: Reverse these steps to install your new fairing.
